Recovering Your Payment Password

If you've forgotten your permanent payment password, you need to cancel it and create a new one. You can do so using any of three methods:
 

If your phone number is linked to your account

1. Click ‘Recover your payment password’. This or a similar link appears on every Yandex.Money page where you're required to enter your payment password to confirm an operation.
2. You'll see a page with the button ‘Get text message’. Click on this button, and a text message with a one-time secret code will be sent to your primary linked phone number.
3. Go to our site and click on your balance. You'll see a special link. Follow the link and enter the text message code to confirm cancelation of your password. After that you can create a new password.
 

If you don't have a linked phone number

Then you can use the recovery code you entered when opening your Yandex.Money account.
1. Click ‘Recover your payment password’. This or a similar link appears on every Yandex.Money page where you're required to enter your payment password to confirm an operation.
2. Wait for the email with a link. Follow the link to a page where you'll enter your recovery code. You'll have five attempts.
If you don't see our email, there are two possible reasons:
  • it was ended up in your spam folder;
  • you are checking the wrong inbox. Unless you've changed (and confirmed) your email address on Yandex.Password, then all messages from our service are sent to your Yandex.Mail account (your login + @yandex.ru) by default.

If you don't remember your recovery code

You need to file an application to link a cell phone number to your account. After we process your application, you will receive a text message with a code. Enter this code on the Yandex.Money website to create a new payment password.
